Russell, Ebbie

Ebbie Russell, a U.S.-born Black queer femme, is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist whose writing, choreography, and visual art is heavily rooted in African diasporic movements, belief in time travel, and exploration of how dance can address, heal, and honor intergenerational trauma and chronic illness. Ebbie is also a teaching artist who designs arts and movement-based workshops with young people of all ages in western Massachusetts and beyond. They are passionate about Black Feminist Futures, care network building, and food sovereignty. Ebbie is a former Pay It Forward and AWE Resident (Oct. 2022, Easthampton, MA) with two solo art shows forthcoming: “Topographies: An Afrofuturescape” at the Jones Library, Amherst, MA (July 2023) and 50 Arrow Gallery, Easthampton, MA (Sept. 2023)
