50 Arrow Gallery is proud to present Small Scale, Epic World, a photography exhibition by Darrell Clemmer.
Darrell is a New Hampshire–based visual artist working in toy photography, a genre that reimagines miniature figures as living characters inside fully realized, cinematic environments. Using careful lighting, composition, and a strong sense of narrative, Darrell transforms familiar figures into something larger than life. What begins as plastic and scale becomes movement, tension, and story.
This work sits in that space between memory and myth. The characters are recognizable, pulled from childhood, from comics, from film. But here, they are re-authored. They are given weight. Given atmosphere. Given a world to exist inside.
There’s a kind of quiet challenge in that. What we dismiss as small becomes expansive. What we think we know becomes something else entirely.
The exhibition features a selection of Darrell’s large-scale photographic prints, each one constructed with intention and precision. These are not snapshots. They are staged moments, built frame by frame, asking the viewer to step in and suspend disbelief.
