Rest as Resistance : Yin Yoga Practice for BIPOC

Loading Events

This gathering is an invitation to reclaim rest as a birthright and a powerful act of resistance. Inspired by Tricia Hersey’s book Rest is Resistance, we’ll explore how capitalism and white supremacy have conditioned us to equate our worth with productivity and how we can push back by honoring rest as sacred and necessary.

Through the slow, meditative practice of Yin Yoga, we’ll spend time in supportive postures held for several minutes, allowing the body to soften and the mind to quiet. Together, we’ll create space for stillness, reflection, and healing. This practice is gentle, grounding, and accessible. No prior yoga experience needed.

Our time together will include a guided check-in, meditation, Yin Yoga practice, reflective prompts, and a closing check-out. This class is for BIPOC participants only, offering a space of connection, rest, and resistance.

Spaces are limited. Sign up for the class, here.
